After 23 years in e-commerce, Submarino debuts physical sales with kiosk

Submarino, one of the Americanas S.A. brands, has been operating in the e-commerce market for 23 years in Brazil, and this month took the first step towards physical retail sales.
The company has just inaugurated its first physical sales point, a kiosk in Shopping Tamboré, located in the city of Barueri, São Paulo. The new business model of the company was developed by Grupo Uni.co, a franchising platform acquired by Americanas.
The operation consists of implementing more kiosks of 6 to 9 square meters. The brand will now operate through the franchising model with the kiosks.With an initial investment of R$ 120,000, the first kiosk has about 700 products, mostly related to technology.
"Submarino was one of the first online stores created in Brazil. Since then, it has been recognized for launching the latest trends in the gamer and technology market. Now, we will combine the brand's experience in the digital universe with the strength of Uni.co as a franchisor, experimenting with this new business model that focuses on strengthening the innovation pillar of our giant ecosystem," says Anna Saicali, CEO of Ame and IF - Innovation and Future, the innovation engine of Americanas S.A.
About Shopping Tamboré: according to SiiLA's GROCS platform, the property has over 49,000 square meters of GLA, was delivered in 1992, and is managed by BRMalls.
