On Thursday (18), the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) will hold an auction to grant the Congonhas terminal in São Paulo and 14 more airports to the private sector. The federal government expects to attract around R$ 7.3 in investments from the auction winners to modernize the terminals.

The expected concession period is 30 years. This is Anac's 7th round of concessions and will be carried out in 3 blocks: the SP-MS-PA-MG block includes Congonhas airports, another three in Mato Grosso do Sul, and four in the state of Pará and three in Minas Gerais, with minimum bid of R$ 740.1 million. The General Aviation Block includes Campo de Marte, in São Paulo and Jacarepaguá, in Rio and, finally, the North Block II, which includes airports in Belém, Pará, and Macapá, in the state of Amapá.

According to Anac, more than 30 million passengers pass through the terminals that are part of the new round – the numbers refer to traffic from the pre-pandemic period of 2019.
