Americanas to expand its Distribution Centre in Gravataí and open 'thousands of jobs'.

Americanas will expand its operation at the distribution centre it already occupies on the banks of the RS-118, in Gravataí, in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre (RMPA). Job vacancies will be opened, but the retailer did not inform the number of posts.The statement further reinforces Rio Grande do Sul's position as a major logistics hub in Brazil.

In a note to the market, the retailer informed this Wednesday (16) that it is negotiating the expansion of approximately 14 thousand square meters of the total area of the distribution centre. The CD is Montabil, which belongs to the owners of the Gaucho group Medabil.

With the expansion, the DC will have 39 thousand square meters of area to manage its own stock and store partners in the marketplace.

The company says that the "initiative is in line with the strategy of accelerating the fast delivery front in the state and the logistical operation throughout the southern region". Today the brand has more than 170 physical Americanas stores in the three southern states.
