Anchor stores are the ones driving the resumption

The anchor stores are pushing for the resumption of BR Malls shopping centers, and there is a demand for space in the developments, said the company’s president, Ruy Kameyama on Friday. “There is robust demand from anchors for GLA (gross leasable area). They are capitalized, and many are accessing the capital market”, said the executive in a conference call with analysts. Still, according to him, there has been “great acceleration” in the last months in the commercialization of spaces.
The shopping center operator had a profit attributable to the controllers of R$7.8 million in the third quarter, down 97% in the annual comparison. And revenue fell 37% from July to September, to R$198.3 million, on the same basis.
