On Monday afternoon (4), a leadership shake-up began at Tegra Incorporadora, a company specialized in mid- and high-end residential developments in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The current CEO, Ubirajara Spessotto de Camargo Freitas, is leaving the company.
Not only will the CEO step down, but part of the developer’s leadership team will also leave. The company is set to undergo a restructuring process while maintaining a focus on performance.
REsource has learned from reliable sources that André Lucarelli, senior vice president at Brookfield Asset Management, will take over as interim head of the developer.
Lucarelli previously worked at the company as superintendent of new business and later as business director. His first tenure lasted eight years, from 2009 to 2018, when he moved on to become a vice president at Brookfield Asset Management.
Ubirajara had been leading the company since 2015. He has also served as CEO of Cyrela, was a founding partner and director at B/Sinco Incorporadora, and held positions at companies such as Gafisa, Schahin Cury, and Cushman & Wakefield, among others.
Official information is expected to be released later this week.
According to the company, gross sales value (GSV) from launches in 2025 exceeded R$3 billion. Net revenue reached R$1.2 billion, while adjusted gross margin stood at 27.7%.
Backed by Brookfield, Tegra was originally established as Brookfield Incorporações, the company’s local development arm. During that period, it achieved nationwide scale and recognition, ranking among the leading residential developers in Latin America.
Following the real estate market downturn in the mid-2010s, the company initiated a restructuring process. In 2015, it underwent a turnaround focused on profitability, capital discipline, and portfolio review. Two years later, in 2017, it adopted the Tegra brand.
Since then, the company has operated more selectively, focusing on mid- to high-income residential developments in key markets such as São Paulo, Campinas, and Rio de Janeiro. Today, it positions itself as a leaner and more disciplined developer.
