Last month, the Big Group announced the sale of its business to Carrefour, and has decided to enter e-commerce once and for all with the Big, Big Bompreço, and Sam's Club brands. It is a turnaround in the position adopted in May 2019, when the group closed sales through the e-commerce channel as the platform previously developed by Walmart Brasil was sold to the Advent fund a year earlier and was considered outdated. Since last year, with the pandemic, the company had been resuming and exploring digital retailing.

In 2020, the Big Group responded to the demand for online shopping through services such as delivery in partnership with Rappi, iFood, Uber Eats, and other delivery platforms.

The agreements with the apps will be maintained. However, with the launch of the e-commerce websites for the group's brands, the company is moving towards offering its service with end-to-end operational control.

The new operation will utilize physical stores as distribution centers and warehouses, and it will offer free delivery with a minimum purchase amount according to each network's policy.
