Brookfield resumes the sale of its remaining mall's stakes in Rio and SP

The Canadian company Brookfield resumed negotiations to sell its stakes in shopping centers Higienópolis and Pátio Paulista (in the city of São Paulo) and Riosul (in Rio de Janeiro). The developments are located in premium areas aimed at high-income consumers. The main mall operators are focused on business and real estate funds, which have a great hunger for acquisitions. Together, the company's shares in the purchase centers are valued at well over R$ 1 billion. The phase is for asset analysis, and there is still no binding offer on the table.
Brookfield has been getting rid of its mall portfolio in recent years. In December, it agreed to sell 100% of Madureira Shopping, in Rio, for R$ 286.2 million to the real estate fund Malls Brasil Plural. Before that, it sold its 21% minority interest in Shopping Leblon to Aliansce Sonae for R$275 million.
