The SiiLA ACADEMY, aimed at real estate professionals, has entered its second week with two new instructors, Carolina Borges, a CNPI analyst at EQI Research, and Antonio Ferreira Rosa, the country head of Hines in Brazil. The course began on the 10th and is now in its 4th edition, offering two modules: Logistics and Offices. Taught by Giancarlo Nicastro, CEO of SiiLA, it consists of a total of 8 classes for each module, with 6 of them featuring renowned professionals in the sector.

Carolina Borges discussed technology and the importance of data analysis in the real estate market, using the SiiLA Market Analytics solution as a foundation. As someone directly involved in Real Estate Investment Funds (REIT) coverage, she taught the Logistical module to students on Monday, the 18th.

"The SiiLA ACADEMY brings together experts from very specific areas, people who have a lot of knowledge, and students can take advantage of this because the classes are live. I really enjoyed participating. I believe that the experience for the students has also been very interesting because we can see their interest, participation, and the desire to make the most of what is being offered there", she said about her participation in the course.

During the class, Carolina, who is also a teacher at the State University of Maringá, shared her experience with data analysis at EQI Research. Within the IFIX index, she explained, 17 REITs are part of the logistics segment.

In addition to the composition of IFIX, the teacher gave examples of recent Real Estate Investment Fund fundraising that is heating up the FII sector. The central theme was the importance of data analysis for investment decision-making, especially when developing a portfolio allocation strategy. To illustrate, the professor used real-life examples based on real estate market data and statistics obtained from the Market Analytics platform.

On Tuesday, the 19th, it was Antonio Ferreira Rosa's turn, the head of Hines in Brazil, who discussed the main trends and changes in the world of corporate offices.

Ferreira started the class with a contradictory and provocative statement, "the office is dead, long live the office". He referred to how people work today, the new models of operation, how we perceive these spaces today, and how we will work in the future.

Various topics relevant to the real estate market were discussed during the class, from the redefinition of shopping malls after the popularization of e-commerce to the importance of location in the value of a development. Hines' country head in Brazil used the company's experience in other countries, particularly in the USA, to draw parallels with the Brazilian market and share lessons applicable to the national scenario.

Ferreira used Hines' project portfolio to provide examples of market trends to the students. He mentioned a project, still in the approval phase, that envisions a mixed-use development with 73,000 square meters of private area, including ground-floor shops, two residential towers with 21 and 23 floors, and a corporate tower with 25 floors. We recently covered Hines' investment in mixed-use assets; you can read about it here.

"The participation in SiiLA ACADEMY was an excellent opportunity to discuss the current state of the office market and debate the future of this sector, which is undergoing visible transformation", commented the executive regarding his participation in the course.

Upcoming Classes

The SiiLA ACADEMY classes will continue until the end of October, with six more classes for each module, and a technical visit to a corporate office and industrial property development at the end of the course.

The waiting list for the next edition is already available; you can access it now to be notified about future classes and secure your spot.
