Carrefour Brasil targets more mixed-use real estate projects

02/19/2021 Carrefour Brasil and WTorre started this month the renovation project of the supermarket chain’s store at Marginal Pinheiros, in São Paulo. The unit was the company’s first store in the country, which opened in 1975. The project starts a model that the retailer wants to replicate in more real estate projects on its land: its mixed-use properties.
In addition to revitalising the store, Carrefour Brasil will get floors in the corporate tower (corresponding to 14 thousand square meters) to be built on the site. The project will have 320 thousand square meters of total built area, with the supermarket, corporate towers, residential towers and commercial spaces for shopping and theatre. It is estimated that the complex will have over 13,000 residents and workers.
