The event always takes place in the fourth week of November, on Fridays, as the name implies. This date was set on account of the American Thanksgiving holiday. As a holiday that many consider a time to gather the family, the country's traders decided to take advantage of the occasion to leverage sales at this time of year.

In Brazil, Black Friday takes place on the same date as in the US, and the movement became popular in retail in mid-2010. The date has already become one of the most important for retailers in the country, even being considered the second biggest sales period in the sector, second only to Christmas.

Trade Preparation

In this period of the year, companies usually carry out some operations in their companies to increase their sales and cope with the greater volume of demand. Retailer Casas Bahia, for example, announced that its megastore would be open 24 hours during Black Friday, from Thursday (11/24) to Friday (11/25). The company is calling this action "A Maior Black do Brasil."

Located on Marginal Tietê, the megastore has 18,000 sq meters, and, during Black Friday, there will be promotions throughout its length. The retailer even announced that it has partnered with some brands, such as Samsung, which will have an exclusive space inside the megastore.

Casas Bahia's Black Friday starts at 7:30 pm this Thursday, with a live broadcast, presented by Américo Fazio and Wendell Lira, through the company's app.
