The family's plan, owner of Vedacit and one of the most traditional in the shopping center sector, should have started last year. Still, the pandemic forced the group to rethink the project, which begins with the concept of more open and integrated areas. WTorre is a partner in part of the investment.
Currently, there are approximately 600,000 square meters of land, which is equivalent to 70 soccer fields. However, only one-third of this space is utilized by Expo Center, Center Norte shopping malls, Lar Center, and Novotel Center Norte.
The plan is to construct commercial and residential buildings, an arena for shows and games, shops, restaurants, and a hospital. In addition to that, the group will also expand the area of Shopping Center Norte by about 10%, with the last expansion taking place in 1999. The Expo Center will also be expanded by up to 30%.
