The Brazilian Chamber of Construction Industry (CBIC) fears the decline in economic activity with a possible retraction in investments by Brazilians in real estate, motivated by high inflation, which should push interest rates up.

One of the main concerns is the increase in commodities, such as iron ore, aluminium, copper and oil, in addition to the possible increase in freight. In the entity's assessment, the movement may further raise the prices of inputs used in construction, which, since mid-2020, have already put pressure on the sector's costs.
