After attending college, he became interested in the financial market. The year was 2009, the peak of the Subprime financial crisis in which many assets had substantial losses worldwide.
"It was that moment in the economy when you could buy any asset because it was cheap. Even if you choose randomly, you win".
According to Cardoso, the first investments were in shares of better-known companies, such as Vale and Petrobras, but in the wrong way. This is because the acquisitions were made before knowing the assets well."I was a little uncomfortable with that because there was no predictability. Even the analyst himself has a considerable limitation of understanding all those variables".
Six months later, he started investing in Real Estate Funds. The suitability of the application and the return guarantees offered were a differential. In addition to investing, he has deeply studied the FII."It just wasn't love at first sight because I thought there was a catch in how easy it was to invest in FIIs. It was too good to be true," he jokes.
It was the precursor of a bolder (and accurate!) Cardoso's family-owned commercial rooms in Rio de Janeiro were considered inefficient income generators in the view of the young entrepreneur.
The FII Club platform
The Real Estate Funds market currently has 1,648,000 investors in more than 400 FIIs listed on the stock exchange, according to the latest B3 report for April 2022.The market has grown 692% since December 2018, capitalising R$176 billion of equity present in the assets of the FIIs' portfolios.
To fit this audience, Clube FII operates with a team that works directly on the platform between IT functions, the creation of content for social networks, in addition to the verification and dissemination of news about Real Estate Funds."The FII Club plays an essential role in helping more people in Brazil know about Real Estate Funds."
Among the company's main partners is SiiLA, 'Sistema de Informação Imobiliária Latino-Americana', with which Clube FII forms a joint venture. The company is a provider of cloud real estate market intelligence data compiled by researchers using advanced statistical methodologies and technology.
"The FII Club plays an essential role in helping more and more people in Brazil know about Real Estate Funds and providing relevant information and data to assist investors in their decisions. We are very proud to be partners since the joint venture we signed in early 2020 to bring our commercial real estate market intelligence to the platform's clients", said Giancarlo Nicastro, CEO of SiiLA.
