The DHL logistics group plans to expand itsoperations in Brazil with the formation of new regional hubs, an increase inthe number of stores focused on e-commerce and the expansion of its structureat the Viracopos airport (SP), according to Mirele Mautschke, president of DHLExpress in the country.

Globally, DHL Express, a division of the German logistics group, earned €6.37billion (approximately R$ 35 billion, at current rates) in the first quarter of2022 and made total investments (capex) of €605 million (in around R$ 3.36billion), only in the period from January to March this year. The company doesnot break down revenue figures by country.

In 2022, the company's forecast is to invest R$ 51 million in Brazil. The fundsshould be used to purchase electric vehicles and install new units, includingforming a regional "hub" in Recife for the Northeast.
