The hygiene and cleaning product manufacturer, GTEX, has recently set up its new distribution center in Guarulhos, located in the state of São Paulo. According to the company, the total investment for establishing the DC amounted to US$ 11.7 million. This initiative is a crucial component of their strategic plan aimed at augmenting production, storage, and distribution capacities for their product lines. Recently, the company secured a pre-lease for 10,000 square meters at the BRZ 040 Logistics Park in Minas Gerais.
According to market monitoring data by SiiLA, the distribution center is housed in a stand-alone warehouse within GLP Dutra III. This facility enables GTEX to increase its product storage capacity by 60%, escalating from 9,300 to 15,000 pallets. Talita Santos, the CEO of the company, emphasized the investment as part of an effort to streamline operations. She stated, "With the new DC in operation, GTEX reaffirms its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and process optimization, furthering our goal of enhancing the level of services provided to our customers."
With the new DC, the loading and unloading space has expanded from 16 to 26 docks, a 63% increase from the previous capacity. The company also highlighted the advantage of a 24x7 operation on-site, leading to a significant improvement in their logistics by reducing truck loading wait times.
In 2025, the company plans to construct a new factory, with expectations to triple its production capacity to up to 3.6 million product boxes per month once operational. Currently, GTEX has a manufacturing capacity of 1.8 million. Talita mentioned, "[With the new factory], we will achieve considerable additional gains, with a 39% increase in production area. Our goal is to expand the space for the new liquid filling machines by 85%, and 25% for blow-molding equipment, allowing for an 87% increase in the turnover of ready-to-ship boxes per month."
The pillars of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) are also a focal point for the company. According to the CEO, the company has adopted a more efficient and transparent governance model, modernized its machinery and equipment, and implemented a digital network to connect data systems across all units, among other initiatives. "One of our priorities will be to strengthen and expand the Group's ESG projects. The aim is for the organization to further reduce environmental impacts, contributing to sustainable development", emphasized the executive.
GTEX is a 50-year-old Brazilian company and the parent entity of brands like Baby Soft, Urca, and UFE. With operations spanning eight states, the company boasts a portfolio of over 400 products, primarily catering to the B, C, and D classes. Their products are available in approximately 50,000 retail points across the country.
