In the third episode of the NXT Podcast, Giancarlo Nicastro welcomes Guga Stocco, entrepreneur and specialist in innovation and disruptive technologies in Brazil, for a conversation about trends, behavior, and technology. The discussion begins with a simple question: is technology changing human beings, or merely amplifying what they have always been?
To answer, Guga turns to something everyone experiences but few stop to reflect on. The smartphone, for example, is no longer just a device.
“It has become the remote control for human beings. When you are without your phone, it feels as though a part of your body is missing,” Stocco explains.
From there, the conversation moves into an even deeper scenario: a future in which artificial intelligence will not simply be a tool, but a constant, invisible, integrated, and indispensable presence.
According to Stocco, we are entering the era of the “digital copilot” — an agent that supports decisions, tasks, and even thoughts. And its impact may be greater than it seems.
Throughout the episode, Guga develops a line of reasoning that blends technology and human behavior, revealing a paradox. He points out that younger generations are already born into a world where everything is mediated by technology. Unlike those who lived without the internet, this audience has no concept of the “before.”
The example he shares is almost symbolic: young people who cannot operate a record player simply because they have never interacted with that kind of logic. According to the expert, this may seem trivial, but the way we think is being shaped by the tools we use.
As the conversation progresses, the tone shifts. What begins as a discussion about artificial intelligence evolves into a reflection on life itself. Guga speaks about success, time, and attention — three elements that, in his view, are rarely understood in the right way.
Having too many desires, for example, can mean living in a constant state of dissatisfaction. Money, meanwhile, does not solve the central problem. And time only gains meaning when presence exists.
“You didn’t give attention to your child; you didn’t truly live with them. Then, at the end of your life, will you say you would rather have spent more time with them or built a company that became successful? A company that was sold, renamed, and eventually forgotten,” he reflects.
