Confidence has come back more firmly among guests, and there is a feeling among travelers to make up for lost time. With the partial return of business tourism, the sector's numbers are starting to return to the level of 2019, indicating that full recovery may be closer than expected, starting next year.
The damage of the pandemic was significant. In the first wave, in 2020, the doors were shut completely. A second wave marked the only gradual reopening of local leisure tourism.
Only with vaccination, in 2021, it registered a more relevant return of the number of accommodations. However, many hotels were converted to other uses or closed their doors along the way.
