The global consultancy GPTW (Great Place to Work) annually presents the award of the same name, recognizing and certifying the best workplaces based on criteria that assess the organizational environment. Last week, the 27th Brazilian edition of the award, held in partnership with Valor Econômico and Época Negócios, revealed the rankings during an event at Espaço Unimed in São Paulo, where over 150 companies participated.
Among companies with over 10,000 employees, the grand winner was Itaú Unibanco. The company currently employs 91,345 registered employees, according to GPTW. Data from the Market Analytics platform reveal that the company occupies over 234,000 square meters in A+, A, and B-grade offices in the main regions monitored by SiiLA. A highlight is that the company recently occupied the Itaú Jabaquara development in the neighborhood mentioned in the building's name.
"I believe that we were awarded 1st place in the GPTW ranking because of how we relate to people - both those inside, the 'itubers,' and those outside, our customers, shareholders, and society in general. Itaú Unibanco is an organization that provides its employees with the conditions to operate in a world in constant transformation," says Tatyana Montenegro, Human Resources Director at Itaú Unibanco.
According to Tatyana, this result goes far beyond offering competitive compensation and benefits: "It has a lot to do with creating a trustworthy environment where people can be themselves and express their ideas... with the provision of a learning ecosystem that encourages constant knowledge-seeking and exchange among peers, leaders, and teams, as well as a more flexible working model and a culture that transforms and brings elements that encourage behaviors and attitudes that will make us a better, more agile, collaborative, diverse, and customer-centric organization."
In second place is the business consulting firm Accenture Brazil, which has 17,995 employees and offices in three developments: Alexandre Dumas and Berrini One in São Paulo and Rio Metropolitan in the city center of Rio de Janeiro, totaling 8,815 square meters. In third place is the retailer Gazin, which does not lease office assets in the capitals covered by SiiLA.
After the giants, the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk leads the list of large companies with 1,364 employees. The drug manufacturer occupies 7,413 square meters, with 2,248 square meters in the CGD Corporate Towers corporate building.
"Novo Nordisk places the patient at the center of everything it does, so our thinking is always about caring for all people. We have long established solid commitments to promote an excellent work environment, based on safety, respect, diversity, and inclusion. These commitments are essential to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and free to deliver their best. Being recognized as a GPTW company is proof that we are on the right path. We are immensely grateful for this recognition," declares the winning company in the REsource category.
Second place went to the information technology solutions company SAP, which occupies 4,856 square meters in the B Tower (Marble Tower) of Rochaverá Corporate Towers in Chucri Zaidan, São Paulo. In third place in the category is the insurer Tokio Marine, which has 2,308 employees allocated in three developments, with the largest being the Tokio Marine Seguradora building in the Paraíso neighborhood, also in São Paulo.
The multinational technology company e-Core, with 675 employees, leads its category. The company is located in the Ibirapuera II Business Towers in São Paulo, occupying an area of 750 square meters. The podium is shared with Visagio consultancy in second place and Cisco in third place. These companies are located in the International Rio in Rio de Janeiro and the CENU - Centro Empresarial Nações Unidas in São Paulo, respectively.
In addition to the overall ranking, there were other awards, such as the Emotional Health Highlight, which were won by the retailer Magazine Luiza and the data analysis company Neoway. Today, the retail company occupies over 423,000 square meters, combining office and industrial properties areas, and the other awardee has a small occupation of 865 square meters in Torre Sul in the Berrini region of São Paulo.
