Iphan provisionally overturns the Ibirapuera Complex

The opening of the listing process in December 2020 paralyzed the concession to the private sector for the construction of a multipurpose arena with commercial towers and transformation of the sports gym into a shopping center

The National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan) announced this Thursday (4) the provisional listing of the Constâncio Vaz Guimarães Sports Complex, known as the Ibirapuera Complex, located in the South Zone of São Paulo.

In the decision, Larissa Peixoto, president of the institute, certified that the properties of the Sports Complex, from the date of registration, "cannot, under any circumstances, be destroyed, demolished or mutilated, nor, without prior special authorization from the Heritage Service Historical and National Art, be repaired, painted or restored, under penalty of a fine of 50% of the damage caused".
