In the current landscape, as corporate workspaces undergo transformation and collaborative environments gain increasing significance, SiiLA's CEO, Giancarlo Nicastro, conducted an insightful interview with Diego Fonseca, a partner at Jive Investments, an investment management company, to delve into the real estate market and the innovative Jive House project.
Jive House is a multifunctional space encompassing an auditorium, café, and meeting rooms thoughtfully incorporated on the ground floor of Jive's office, strategically situated within the prestigious Mario Garnero Business Center in Faria Lima, São Paulo. During the interview, Diego Fonseca expounded on the seamless fusion of cost-effectiveness and strategic location in their establishment, along with the exploration of novel work models.
Here are some key highlights from the interview, or you can watch the entire conversation in the accompanying videos!
Giancarlo Nicastro: Could you elaborate on the Jive House project?
Diego Fonseca: Jive House emerged as a unique venture for us, intending to harness the space actively for our employees and partners. Our vision encompassed hosting a myriad of market-focused events and meetings, while concurrently making substantial strides in the realm of technology. Synthesizing these aspirations, Jive House was born—a space teeming with opportunities for education, interaction, and business growth. We equipped it with a café, a dedicated video recording room, and resources to facilitate training sessions and meetings with clients and internal teams. The design inherently embraced the concept of hybrid meetings, bridging the gap between physical and virtual worlds. The venue boasts diverse rooms and formats, including the capacious mezzanine dubbed the Main Stage, ideal for hosting events with up to 120 attendees.
GN: Apart from meeting Jive's requisites, is Jive House open for utilization by other companies in the region?
DF: Absolutely! Although designed to cater to our needs, Jive House proved to be an ideal space for other companies as well. Numerous regional enterprises have embraced the opportunity, scheduling collaborative events and meetings at Jive House. This perfectly aligns with Jive House's core objective of fostering connections among businesses and individuals, fostering meaningful interactions. We envision Jive House not only as our exclusive domain but as a collaborative and enriching hub for other companies to leverage.
GN: It's remarkable how Jive House evolved into such a versatile and appealing space. How did you navigate the return to the offices post-pandemic? Did you encounter any employee resistance?
DF: The transition back to our offices was executed smoothly. Our foresight in initiating office renovations three months before the pandemic proved advantageous. The renovation was conceived with the notion of hybrid work in mind, considering Jive's dynamic, with employees frequently managing tasks beyond São Paulo's confines. Consequently, we adapted the office, incorporating state-of-the-art meeting rooms with video conferencing capabilities and providing flexible workstations. Amid the pandemic, the team embraced the concept, which facilitated a smoother reintegration when we resumed in-office activities. Presently, most teams attend the office three or four days a week, with the flexibility for team managers to tailor the model that best suits their respective groups. The amalgamation of in-person and remote work has proven effective for us.
GN: Considering the growing trend of hybrid work across the market, what are your thoughts on this matter?
DF: We firmly believe that there's no one-size-fits-all solution for companies regarding hybrid work. It poses unique challenges but also presents distinct advantages, such as cultivating stronger bonds among employees and effectively transmitting the company's culture. In our case, our office's infrastructure and proactive approach to hybrid work gave us a head start in adapting to this new paradigm. Striking a balance between in-person and remote work is pivotal to capitalize on the best of both worlds, fostering collaboration and seamless interaction among teams.
