In the past six years, Magalu Group has invested R$1 billion in logistics infrastructure and is now launching Magalog, its new logistics operator. The company will be responsible for transforming its logistics assets into a service platform for the market. According to Magalu, Magalog is already one of the largest logistics operators in the country, with revenue exceeding R$3 billion and a client portfolio that includes 70 companies, including Magalu Group itself.
The new operation will reach 3,800 municipalities, covering 95% of the national GDP, with both light and heavy deliveries. Marcio Chammas, Executive Director of Magalog, explains that the goal is to turn logistics from a cost center into a revenue stream for the group. In 139 cities, Magalog will offer ultra-fast deliveries with lead times of up to two hours, using the company's 21 logistics hubs and serving both the group and other companies such as Centauro, Petlove, Petz, China in Box, Cobasi, Coco Bambu, Electrolux, Evino, Frigelar, and Soma.
The executive highlights that ultra-fast delivery, available since 2021, was driven by the pandemic and continues to thrive with the "ship from seller" and "ship from store" strategies. "We believe that the ability to deliver the same day or even within a few hours is a key differentiator for our clients," says Chammas.
Data from Market Analytics, the data and analytics platform of SiiLA, indicates that Magalu Group currently occupies 459,048 square meters of logistics properties in Class A+, A, and B, monitored by SiiLA’s platform. Among them is GLP Guarulhos II, located near São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport, which is fully leased.
With the launch of Magalog, all of the group's logistics operations have been consolidated, eliminating distinctions between previous services. "This new company is born with the mission of scaling Magalu's logistics capacity, for example, further reducing our delivery times and enhancing the service levels that are already recognized as among the best in Brazil," concludes the executive.
To serve the entire country, the company reported that it has a robust structure, which includes: 21 distribution centers, 2 national hubs, 20 regional hubs, and 6,000 vehicles used daily.
