The retailer Magazine Luiza has announced its intention to seek membership in the "Remessa Conforme" program with the Federal Revenue Service. This certification enables e-commerce companies to secure tax benefits for the importation of goods, with a special focus on items valued up to 50 dollars destined for individual consumers.
The company, which currently occupies 420,034 square meters of industrial properties in Brazil, conveyed through a press release that it seeks to diversify its range of imported products within the marketplace. According to the company's own statements, its app garners monthly access from over 47 million users.
Eduardo Galanternick, Vice President of Business at Magalu, expressed his enthusiasm for this opportunity to introduce brands and products that have yet to establish a presence in Brazil. He stated, "We are eager to leverage the possibilities to bring new audio brands, speakers, toys, razors, and various other portable electronic devices into our marketplace."
Galanternick further emphasized that the "Remessa Conforme" Program creates a platform for other segments within the group to stand out in their respective markets. He commented, "Moreover, we see immense potential for our other group brands, such as Netshoes in the sports goods sector, Época Cosméticos in beauty products, and KaBuM! in the gaming industry."
Magazine Luiza, with a network comprising more than 1,300 stores across 21 states in the country, also operates six other online brands: Netshoes, Zattini, Época Cosméticos, Estante Virtual, and KaBuM!.
