Brazilian e-commerce is entering a new race: What company will deliver faster to consumers? In this dispute, Magazine started a test in 45 stores to deliver within an hour, Frederico Trajano, CEO of the retailer, told NeoFeed.

“This year, we are focusing on deliveries in 1 hour. We already have 45 stores doing this”, says Trajano. “So, we will continue to increase the service level. In China, you have delivery in 20 minutes”.

Without providing details, Trajano said that the objective is to significantly increase this number throughout 2021. Currently, Magazine Luiza has over 1,300 stores.

In the first quarter of this year, 51% of orders placed on the Magazine Luiza website were delivered within 24 hours. Within two days, this percentage reached 70%. This data does not take into account the sales of sellers on their marketplace.

"We will expand our physical network: more logistics units and more stores that function as mini-distribution centers. And we will activate this network not only for 1P (own sales) but also for 3P (marketplace). It is an investment that will benefit both operations", says Trajano.
