Mercado Livre is set to invest R$ 17 billion in Brazil in 2022 and open new distribution centers
- According to Mercado Livre, a large part of the investment will be applied to the Mercado Pago Fintech

03/24/2022 E-commerce giant Mercado Livre released a statement last Tuesday (22), signaling its intention to invest R$17 billion in Brazil this year. The amount is 70% greater than the amount invested in the country during 2021.
According to Mercado Livre, a large part of the investment will be applied to the Mercado Pago Fintech, expanding the offer of services, products, and experiences integrated into the digital account. In addition, the company announced that it should open four new distribution centers in the State of Sao Paulo.
According to Mercado Livre, the new Distribution Centre will allow the expansion of logistics capacity, increasing its transaction capacity to over 2 million packages.
Currently, Mercado Livre has 12 Distribution Centres spread throughout the country. According to SiiLA, Mercado Livre was the company that most leased logistics warehouses in 2020 and 2021, totaling 648,800 sq meters.
