The result was driven by the continuous improvement in the performance of store owners and the end of the mandatory use of masks in many cities. Total sales at Multiplan malls (MULT3) in March 2022 performed 20.6% higher than that reported in March 2019, reaching R$1.4 billion, a new sales record for the month.

According to the company, the result was driven by the continuous improvement in the performance of retailers and the end of the requirement to wear masks in enclosed spaces in several cities.

Multiplan also highlights that "the strong sales growth has even greater significance considering that vehicle traffic and shopping mall occupancy rates have not yet surpassed the performance of 2019." The strong sales in March contributed to the first quarter of 2021 (1Q22) recording, for the second consecutive quarter, sales higher than in 2019 (+13.4%).
