After announcing its return to in-person work, Nubank has just signed the full lease of Capote 210, in Pinheiros. The building — with 14,800 m² and located between Capote Valente and Oscar Freire streets — is owned by HSI and Idea!Zarvos. The agreement sets a ten-year lease term.
The new space sits on the same street as the digital bank’s main headquarters, the Rebouças Module. The information is exclusive to REsource and was confirmed by internal sources involved in the transaction.
With this move, Nubank aligns itself with other financial institutions that have been expanding and bringing operations back to physical offices. Capote 210 is a Class A asset that had been completely vacant for a year — it was delivered in November 2024.
The new building is twice the size of the Módulo Rebouças , its main headquarters. Currently, the building’s market rent averages around R$ 130/m².
As of the time this article was published, the financial institution had not commented on the matter.
Two weeks ago, Nubank became embroiled in controversy. The financial institution fired 12 employees after an internal meeting marked by strong negative reactions to the announcement of the end of full remote work.
Starting in July 2026, 70% of the staff will be required to go to the office twice a week, increasing to three times a week in January 2027. The previous work model required one in-person week per quarter.
During the meeting that presented the new model, around 7,000 employees joined via Zoom, and some reacted angrily, even resorting to aggressive language. The company’s Conduct Committee reviewed the episode and concluded that the level of disrespect justified termination for cause, in addition to issuing written warnings to other employees.
Internally, employees complained that the decision disproportionately affects those who live far from Nubank’s offices and that the company is not properly considering workers located outside the Southeast region.
Some departments — such as customer service, investments, ombuds, data labeling, compliance, and HR — will continue operating remotely because the nature of the work requires little in-person interaction.
Today, the company has offices in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Bogotá, and is planning new locations in Campinas, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Washington, Miami, and Palo Alto.
