Offices to become co-creation and collaboration sites

Companies start reforms to redefine the use of spaces and letting all daily routine work remotely.
Companies start reforms to redefine the use of spaces and letting all daily routine work remotely.
01/28/2021
Since October last year, Heineken’s senior leadership has been discussing the future of its offices in the country more decisively. Internal surveys, which measured Brazilian employees’ desire to return to work in-person, showed that “nobody wanted to work remotely for good, but also they didn’t want to work in-person every day”. In search of a middle ground, the company is “redesigning” administrative spaces in São Paulo to set up “accommodation hubs”.

In the alternative model, the headquarters in Vila Olímpia, the shared services centre in Itu (SP) and the distribution centres in the Sacomã neighbourhood and the city of Sumaré (SP) become “hubs”. It will review the area layout and its 1,300 employees of the corporate and the Itu centre will be able to choose where to work in person, when they wish to, and may visit the spaces up to twice a week. “When is all safe to return, people will have a place to meet, to hold meetings, to celebrate and to meet up with colleagues, but the office will no longer be the place to perform their daily work schedule”, says Raquel Zagui, vice president of human resources from Heineken.
