Permit requests in Porto Maravilha in 1Q21 already exceed demand 2 years ago

New real estate launches in Porto Maravilha are creating expectations for a resumption of growth in the region. According to data from the Region Urban Development Company (Cdurp), just in the first quarter of 2021, there were 19 permit requests in the neighbourhood. Eight are for the construction of buildings and the rest for renovations requests for renovations occupancy and legalisation of properties—a lot more than the seven presented in 2019 and 2020.

Large projects, such as the residential Rio Wonder — the first in Porto Maravilha —, by Cury Investimentos, and the future project for the Moinho Fluminense building pull the statistics. Still, a new profile of small and medium entrepreneurs arrives with more force. It could be the breath of better times after a period of a setback in the revitalisation of the Port Area.
