Petrobras informed that it had started revitalizing its headquarters building (Edise), on Avenida Chile, in downtown Rio de Janeiro. According to the company, the building will be renovated to incorporate sustainability measures, inclusive design, and the smart-office model - in which the occupation and management of offices are more efficient through technological solutions such as scheduling meeting rooms and workstations per application.

The estimate is that the first stage of the work will be completed in the first half of 2022. From that date, the work will continue with the building partially occupied. The estimate is to complete the entire renovation in the second half of 2023.

The Edise building will also accommodate a larger number of workers amidst the movement to reduce occupancy in corporate buildings by the company and implement a permanent teleworking model for administrative staff. This model is voluntary and allows employees to telework for up to three days a week.

Currently, the Edise building can accommodate up to 5,800 employees simultaneously. However, with the renovation and the adoption of the smart-office model, the Petrobras headquarters will have 7,000 workstations. Nevertheless, with the implementation of permanent teleworking, it is expected that approximately 11,500 people can be assigned to the Edise building.
