In March 2022, for the first time in Petz history, a leading retailer of pet products, sales from stores in the North, Northeast and Midwest regions accounted for more than half of the network's total revenue. They surpassed the share of points of sale in the State of São Paulo, which, until then, was the company's leading market.

It was the green light for the retailer to invest in the first distribution centre (DC) outside São Paulo to support the expansion plan to other regions of the country. This year alone, they will open another 50 stores, a milestone for the company. Of this total, two-thirds of the points of sale will be opened in markets where the retailer is not present and the remainder in the Southeast, where it has a strong presence.

"The stores opened in recent years outside the state of São Paulo will still mature and become more representative in terms of total sales," says the financial vice president, Aline Penna. Currently, the retailer has 185 physical stores, of which 54% are located in the state of São Paulo. Two years ago, 65% of the locations were in São Paulo.

The distribution center (CD), which will support Petz's national expansion phase and target cities with over 100,000 inhabitants, will begin operating in the second half of this month in the municipality of Hidrolândia, in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia (GO). With an area of 8,500 square meters, it is much smaller than the company's other distribution centers: one in Embu (SP), with 35,000 square meters, and another in Mauá (SP), with 13,000 square meters.
