Regus, a coworking company that is part of the IWG group, is in the process of expanding. Recently, the company announced two new spaces outside the Rio-São Paulo axis, one in Curitiba, Paraná, and another in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso.
The Curitiba location will be situated in the Século XXI building, and the unit is set to open in June. This is Regus's third unit in the Paraná capital, joining the existing spaces in the Evolution and Centro Empresarial Jatobá buildings.
In Cuiabá, Regus is launching its first unit in the state of Mato Grosso. In the capital, the space will be located in the north tower of the Green Tower building, on the fourth and fifth floors. This will be Regus's 72nd unit in Brazil, with an inauguration planned for the second half of 2024.
Tiago Alves, CEO of Regus/Spaces, remarks that even before the pandemic, Regus's client profile included individuals or companies aiming to optimize their finances and boost productivity.
“We understand that our client's profile includes people who need this freedom of choice, as companies of all sizes can benefit from a flexible workspace, saving money and increasing productivity. For startups and even solo entrepreneurs, the advantages are immediate. This is because these business owners don't need to spend much time and money to equip an office with the necessary infrastructure. These shared environments already have the best IT, security, and telecommunications resources,” he comments.
Regus is investing in a new business model: franchises. The Cuiabá asset will operate under this model, and in 2024, 10 other spaces will be inaugurated as franchises.
“The partnership with Regus has been very satisfactory because we were supported with the brand's international standard structure, its expertise, support in design, implementation, sales and marketing services, and an annual investment of £50 million in its technology platform. Having the first franchise of the group in Cuiabá is extremely promising, as many large companies are establishing their headquarters in the city,” says Oscar Prado Filho, franchisee of Regus Cuiabá.
Alves explains that the return on investment varies, with the average being 36 months. Additionally, the franchisee will have support from IWG. The average annual profit in the sector is R$ 115,000, according to the Coworking Census 2023.
Part of the IWG group, Regus is a coworking company with several coworking spaces in Brazil. The company is present in key locations such as Avenida Paulista, in buildings like São Luiz de Gonzaga, Casa das Rosas, and Edifício Paulista. In the southern zone, it is located in Eldorado Business Tower, Birmann 29, Complexo JK - Torre B, among other properties.
One of Regus's notable projects is Conde Luiz Matarazo, located in downtown São Paulo, which was featured in a REsource article.
