The federal government is working to implement a series of regulatory measures in civil construction by the end of the first semester. One of the proposals is to change the renovation rules in old buildings. According to a source directly involved in the negotiations, new and old buildings are subject to the same requirements to be renovated. The idea is to "adapt the building code" to the period in which the building was built, which would reduce the dispersion of housing in cities and, for example, make people live closer to the places where they work.
"It's a labour-intensive sector, so we want to do everything we can", says the source.
