How can we maintain peace in times of constant overstimulation? That question opened this week’s episode of the NXT Podcast, featuring a conversation between Giancarlo Nicastro and Reverend Aldo. As complex as the reflection may seem, the natural tendency to seek comfort in faith creates an opportunity to examine a population that is exhausted, yet still hopeful.

“We need emotional, spiritual, family, and professional balance. If we don’t have that balance, we cannot be happy. You open your refrigerator, it’s full, yet you don’t know what you want to eat,” the reverend remarked, using an analogy to describe a society that has greater access to resources but often does not know how to use them.

The relationship between material and technological consumerism reflects the search for meaning and belonging, while external factors attempt to fill emotional and psychological gaps that have been neglected. With a great sense of humor, Aldo touches on topics such as social inequality, everyday acts of kindness, and the paradox of how social media consumes human essence while simultaneously normalizing extreme situations.
