The second episode of the SiiLA NXT Podcast deepens the show’s proposal to explore stories and reflections that go beyond linear career paths. The guest, actor and former executive Ricardo Tozzi, leads a conversation marked by questions about identity, purpose, and how individuals shape their own journeys.
The interview opens with a direct provocation: “Who are you when no one is watching?” From there, Tozzi revisits his trajectory and describes the contrast between his early success in the corporate world and the internal discomfort that followed him. Even while holding prominent positions and receiving recognition, he recalls a constant sense of not belonging — a feeling he now identifies as impostor syndrome.
“The more I was applauded, the more like a fraud I felt,” he says. According to him, the crisis was not a single moment, but rather an accumulation of signs pointing to a misalignment between what he was doing and who he believed he was.
The shift began gradually. Art emerged as an outlet, initially through painting. What started as an attempt to find pleasure outside of routine quickly gained momentum: within months, he was producing at a high volume and selling multiple works. Still, the restlessness remained.
It was in theater that he found direction. What began quietly — and even in secrecy — eventually turned into a definitive decision. More than a professional transition, Tozzi frames this journey as a reflection on self-awareness.
“We are here to be completely humble, because within the mystery of life and its purpose, we know nothing. I want to become someone who is increasingly aware of that,” he says.
In this context, he criticizes behavior on social media, which, in his view, reinforces a logic of external validation and the construction of a “pseudo-happiness.” The search for approval, he argues, often distances people from more authentic self-expression.
The conversation also touches on how people relate to one another. For Tozzi, there is a lack of empathy in current interactions, marked by quick judgment and aggressive communication. In contrast, he emphasizes the importance of putting oneself in others’ shoes as a basic principle for healthier relationships.
Throughout the episode, reflections also emerge on discipline, spirituality, and consistency in decision-making. Tozzi shares that he has turned down financially attractive opportunities that did not align with his values, reinforcing the idea that not every gain represents real progress.
