Shopee announces changes to its free shipping policy

With the new rule, the two coupons per customer allowance for free shipping can only be used by retailers who are registered in the e-commerce's free shipping program.

Last Friday (23), Shopee announced changes to the free shipping policy that will take effect in early October. With the new rule, the two coupons per customer allowance for free shipping can only be used by retailers who are registered in the e-commerce's free shipping program.

Retailers participating in the program pay Shopee a percentage of 20% of their sales to gain access to benefits, while retailers who have not joined are taxed at 14%. The minimum amount to use coupons was also changed by R$10, from R$29.00 to $39.00. Despite this, Shopee warned that all retailers would have access to 3 monthly coupons for 50% off shipping.

The change in rules comes shortly after the company officially closed its operations in Chile and Colombia.
