Shopee faces logistical bottlenecks

The online sales platform Shopee, controlled by Sea Limited, from Singapore, is facing a series of problems in its logistics in Brazil, Valor learned. Growth above management capacity, excess commercial actions in a short period of time - to accelerate customer traffic and sales - and insufficient transport and service structure forced the company to put together an action plan, sources say.
These are bottlenecks in the operation at a time when pressure is increasing from rivals on foreign "marketplaces", including Shopee, which import items from Asia - in a strategy led by the main Brazilian online platforms, as Valor anticipated weeks ago.
