The 'Shopee factor' in Brazilian e-commerce

12/08/2021 Shopee and Shein have become increasingly assertive in the Brazilian e-commerce market, making investors question how much the two Asian companies can mess with the Brazilian incumbents' cheese.
The two companies have been betting on low prices to gain market share, although, particularly in the case of Shopee, this means burning cash.For analysts at BTG Pactual, it is still too early to say whether the two new players will be able to assume leadership positions in the country, but competition has already increased.
