It's been a long time since walking along Avenida Beira-Mar de Rainha do Mar, in Xangri-lá, near Avenida Coral, is to come across part of the abandoned beach's history. The imposing structure a few meters from the dunes, which was once a holiday camp for Banrisul, is now a skeleton. The area of almost 11 thousand square meters has been abandoned since 2018, but the land should gain a new development in the coming years. The area that occupies three blocks were acquired by a construction company that intends to invest and make the place attractive again. D1 Empreendimentos, from Capão da Canoa, bought the land for R$ 4.28 million. It is not yet defined what will be built on the site, but what is certain is that, at least, part of the area will be commercial.
