Strip malls grow during the pandemic

Shopping centres focusing on food, products, essential services and convenience, strip malls were less affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
“As the mix is very focused on essential products and services, during the restriction period, around 60%, 70% of the tenants continued to operate throughout the pandemic”, says Carlos Montenegro, CEO of Best Center, operator of strip malls with 50 projects, 40 of which are in operation and ten are under development.
