Next Monday, the insurance company returns to face-to-face work at its new headquarters: holding two floors of the Ventura Corporate Towers, BR Properties building on Av. Chile, in downtown Rio. Before the pandemic, the insurance company was based in Botafogo, in the "South Zone".

The return of Prudential's 435 employees will be gradual and hybrid, with teams working on a rotating basis at headquarters. It will be necessary to schedule a trip to the office and different desks, and only those who have completed the vaccination will return to face-to-face work. Even so, employees from risk groups, pregnant women, interns and young apprentices will remain working from home.

Prudential will hold the 24th and 25th floors of Ventura's east tower, covering 3,600 square meters. At the end of last year, the insurer had already signed a lease agreement for the slabs, but it will now only use the space because of the pandemic.

The arrival of a multinational is excellent news for downtown Rio, which was mainly affected by the combination of working from home and the economic crisis and whose very high standard buildings suffer the highest vacancy rates in the city. But there are glimmers of relief: Eco Sapucaí, a building in Cidade Nova that had been empty since it opened six years ago, recently won its first tenant, as the column reported.

For BR Properties, attracting Prudential proves CEO Martín Jaco's flight to the quality thesis, who sees triple-A buildings, close to services and transportation, as likely winners in the post-Covid office segment.
