Via, the owner of the Casas Bahia, Ponto, and Extra.com.br, has just announced the inauguration of a new logistics management system at the retailer's largest distribution center in Latin America.
The Manhattan Active Warehouse Management system will start operating in February. With this innovation, Via becomes the first retail company to convert a logistics management system to cloud data storage.
Via has been working with Manhattan since 2018 and recently adopted a new version of the software, which improves the management of logistical processes and gains productivity and efficiency at the Jundiaí DC, with an area of 306,000 sq. meters to store and distribute products marketed by their brands and partners.
"This solution facilitates Via's omnichannel strategy, which integrates physical sales and online platforms, such as the website and app. With Manhattan's new WMS, stock division becomes more efficient among all our sales channels in line with the company's mission, which is to sell where, how, and when the customer wants", says Fernando Gasparini, Director of route logistics.
Still, according to the director, another advantage is the optimization and gain of time with the internal processes thanks to what the sector calls the "active call" of the operators, in addition to the automatic and constant updating of the software every 90 days.
