VTEX hires ex-Facebook and Google exec to lead technology

Brazilian tech VTEX has hired a solid reinforcement to smooth the transitioning from the startup stage to the mature level of a publicly-held company. The shares of the e-commerce services platform are now worth less than half the level of their debut on the New York Stock Exchange, in the middle of last year, as part of a risk aversion movement that has affected the sector's shares. Fernanda Weiden takes over the technology area as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) amid the company's first major public life test.
Weiden brings knowledge from his experiences in big tech, mainly in the reliability and scalability area. Her time at Google and Facebook contributed to the transition from a smaller and more agile operation, with a startup look, to the level of weight that the two giants have today. Her arrival will allow the founder and co-CEO Geraldo Thomaz to dedicate himself more to the management of the business.
