VTEX predicts Latin America leading the next stages of e-commerce

Co-CEO of the company says that even with the pandemic, there is still low penetration of e-commerce in the region

VTEX, which helps companies execute e-commerce strategies by setting up online stores in over 30 countries, rose over 30% in its debut on the New York Stock Exchange this Wednesday (21). The Brazilian group predicts that Latin America will be the leader in the next stages of e-commerce, such as live commerce and sales through messaging channels, such as WhatsApp.

"Sales through messaging and live commerce channels will accelerate before in Latin America," the company's co-founder and co-executive president, Geraldo Thomaz, told Reuters in a telephone interview.
