The five floors investment with 11,000 square metres of the new space Vila WeWork Escazú in San José surpassed US$ 11 million.
Changes. WeWork's Latin American operations have been in Softbank's hands since last year, through a joint venture, after the Japanese group took control of the business globally and ousted its founder, Adam Neuman. The pandemic brought challenges to the operation, but the company says that net sales have remained positive from November 2020 to July.
Occupation. This is reflected in occupancy rates, which, according to WeWork, surpass pre-pandemic levels. Brazil has the highest occupancy rate (82%) in Latin America, where 60% of customers are large companies. In the region, the joint venture is also present in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.
