Felipe Folgosi says that standing by his convictions has had consequences for both his personal and professional relationships. In the next episode of the NXT Podcast, the actor opens up about friendships that ended, questions choices from his past and explains his decision to live according to biblical principles. Adultery, celibacy and disagreements within the entertainment industry are among the topics discussed.

Looking back on situations in which his views conflicted with those of colleagues, Folgosi says he lost several friendships because of those differences.

“I had several people I worked with for more than 30 years who, for example, stopped speaking to me,” he says.

In the actor’s view, the entertainment industry tends to lean toward a particular political and cultural spectrum, and respect for differing views is not always reciprocal. He says colleagues told him he would not work again and that he noticed professional consequences stemming from those disagreements.

“So, because I don’t agree with you politically, you’re no longer going to consider my name for a role?” he asks.

For Folgosi, standing by one’s convictions does not mean refusing to question them. During the interview, he argues that it is possible to put faith to the test without abandoning the values that guide his decisions.

That reflection also extends to his personal relationships. Looking back on experiences of infidelity, the actor is direct: “Adultery only brought me harm.” He links those choices to the need to lie, the deterioration of relationships and a break with his own principles. “We think we’re betraying our partner. First, you’re betraying yourself,” he says.

At another point, Folgosi says that, while single, he became involved with a married woman. Today, he believes he was also taking part in a situation marked by lies and disrespect in exchange for temporary pleasure. The account is part of his reassessment of a period when he distanced himself from religion and began acting in ways that conflicted with the values he had previously defended.
