Juan Alba discusses his TV career, rejection, and passion for wine on the NXT Podcast
In the new episode, Juan Alba talks with Giancarlo Nicastro about his career, modeling, challenges, elegance, and passion for wine

Juan Alba’s career has taken him through modeling, television, acting, and the world of wine. On the NXT Podcast, hosted by Giancarlo Nicastro, the actor looked back on key moments in his career and shared reflections on the lessons he has learned along the way, dealing with rejection, elegance, and the changes he has experienced throughout his professional journey.
For Alba, every new project is an opportunity to start over. Acting also taught him the importance of observation when developing a character. He also shared that he has always been a shy person, a trait he had to learn to manage throughout his career.
Before making a name for himself on television, Alba worked as a model. According to the actor, the experience played a key role in his professional development and helped shape the path he would later take in entertainment.
The modeling industry also exposed him to frequent rejection. During the episode, Alba noted that models and actors hear a lot of “no’s,” and that the way people respond to rejection can determine what they take away from those experiences. “You get more ‘no’s’ in modeling and acting than in other professions,” he said.
That experience also led him to reflect on the fleeting nature of physical appearance and public exposure. For Alba, beauty is temporary, while family plays an important role in reminding us of what truly matters.
His passion for wine
Wine is another important part of Alba’s story. He said he has always had a close relationship with wine and that his interest grew as he became more immersed in the world of wine.
The topic also brought some lighter moments to the conversation, with the actor joking about the stereotype that people who know a lot about wine can be difficult to deal with. Toward the end of the episode, he was also asked about the best bottle of wine he has ever tasted.
Alba also shared his perspective on sophistication. Among his references is Giorgio Armani, whom he cited as an example of elegance.
For him, good taste is more about attitude and the ability to adapt to different situations than about consumption or appearance.
When asked what makes someone elegant, the actor also connected elegance with the ability to slow down. “Slowing down is what I consider good taste,” he said.
Television, which has played a major role in his career, was described by Alba as an environment where everything happens at once.
