Mercado Livre wants to improve deliveries to customers

There is a long way for Mercado Envios before it becomes a business venture. The R$10 billion in investment for 2021 is the same as what was invested in the last four years. Among other things, the money will be used to build distribution and contracting centres for logistics and technology.

Using the resources to start a dispute over Correios is completely out of the question. “Correios are not designed for the efficiency we seek,” says Stelleo Tolda, president of Mercado Livre. “As Brazilians and large users of the service, we want it to improve, but our model is different.”
