Inaugurated in October this year, Amazon's new distribution center (DC), established in Itaitinga, Greater Fortaleza, is already strengthening the multinational's product distribution logistics for this Black Friday. PEOPLE got to know this structure of 32 thousand square meters exclusively, the equivalent of four football fields, and show the details of this operation on video.

Rafael Rosemberg, operations manager, says that the structure set up in Itaitinga has only 20% of the storage capacity used so far, which leaves room for expansion for the company to take on more products and get more employees.

The large-scale shelves, packages, and carts filled with numerous products, mostly food items, make the Amazon Distribution Center resemble a hypermarket. However, the delivery logistics reveal the human and technical infrastructure that keeps the facility operating 24 hours a day.

Currently, the company promises to deliver orders within 2 days in over 700 Brazilian cities, including Fortaleza. Despite the promised speed, Amazon ensures there is rigorous quality control in place. Products that are outside the standard or defective are destined for recycling, and a new item will be sent, still within the established timeframe.
