Following its expansion strategy in Brazil, IWG – one of the largest groups of flexible spaces such as coworking and offices and owner of the Regus and Spaces brands, announced its first unit in Goiânia (GO).

The unit, located on the third floor of the Flaymboant Shopping Centre, will be operated by Regus and will have 229 workstations, which will be spread over 1,200 aq metres. The space will have private offices, meeting rooms, shared stations and common areas for customers.

The company bets on the capital of Goiás, mainly due to the potential growth of the business. According to data from the last census carried out by the IBGE, Goiânia has more than 1.5 million residents and stands out nationally as the 10th wealthiest capital in the country.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is valued at R$49.36 billion.

For the CEO of the IWG in Brazil, Tiago Alves, the expansion of the network has emphasised and accompanied a growing demand for flexible workspace solutions.

"Recently, we have noticed employees' preference or even demand for the hybrid work model. It's no surprise that this working model has firmly placed itself on the list of benefits sought after by the modern employee. This factor is increasingly gaining parity with salary and vacation as a key consideration in finding a new job," says the executive.

For Emmanuele Louza, a shareholder in Grupo Flamboyant, the partnership is in line with the strategy of increasingly expanding the shopping mix: "Flamboyant Shopping stands out nationally as a hub of experiences, being recognised as the gateway to the main trends in the Centro -West".

Coworking spaces in malls have become increasingly common. Central Plaza Shopping, for example, which is being built in the region of Cotia and Vargem Grande Paulista in São Paulo, already has space for shared workstations idealised in the design stage.
