São Carlos Empreendimentos wants more street stores

After the 41 properties of Pernambucanas, São Carlos Empreendimentos wants more street stores.

This week, São Carlos Empreendimentos closed its first acquisition in the street stores sector, purchasing 41 properties from Pernambuco for R$ 382.3 million. The business is handled by the subsidiary Best Center, which, until now, operated exclusively in the development of convenience centres – open commercial complexes with approximately 15-20 stores plus parking – where it is the market leader.

The group's goal is to grow in the high street retail business, which depends on finding retailers interested in getting rid of their properties. "We will continue behind, and I think we are going to be able to do more good deals like this one", São Carlos CEO Felipe Goes tells the column. "These are opportunistic negotiations. It depends on finding the retailer and matching the interests".
